Assistance for social enterprises

Support is available to:

Any existing social enterprise on Merseyside that wishes to develop trading activity.
Community groups or voluntary organisations and other third sector organisations who wish to move from grant dependency to income generation through Social Enterprise development.

The Single Procurement Vision will provide a customised package of support to each organisation. In each case the nature and level of support will be developed in the light of the current position of the enterprise and the scope of its specific aims and objectives.

In line with recent government statements, we are committed to enabling Social Enterprises to strengthen their enterprise, expand their markets and procure more from the public sector. We would like to support partnerships, franchising and consortia which increase capacity to win and deliver contracts.

The aim of the initiative is to help these third sector organisations identify possible growth areas, and to provide support to help them take advantage of these new opportunities.

This will help to strengthen Merseyside's third-sector enterprises, and ensure their long-term viability through the creation of new partnerships and consortium arrangements.

The result will be significant levels of new trading activity and jobs in existing local organisations, and the enhancement of a strong, vibrant, sustainable third sector on Merseyside.
